Description

This image shows the Dr. Sandra Glover of the Department of Biology speaking to a reporter from a news station at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the 1970s. The reporter is holding a microphone toward Dr. Glover, reading "12" on the side, and a video camera is visible in the foreground on the left. Students and visitors can be seen standing on the right around a fish tank. The Department of Biology aimed to provide cultural background in life sciences, prepare biology teachers, and train biologists. It is housed in the College of Arts and Sciences and maintains a greenhouse, a herbarium, and several land tracts located on and off campus.
