Description

This image shows two people standing in front of a painting during an art exhibit of Marsha Hemrick's work in May 1975, sponsored by the Art Department at Appalachian State University (1967-current). Originally part of the Division of Applied Arts, the Art Department was one of the first departments at Appalachian State, and is now housed under the College of Fine and Applied Arts. It includes concentrations in clay, drawing, fibers, metals/jewelry, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture. The woman is Carolyn Coffey Taylor (later Carolyn Heavner), Chancellor’s Administrative Assistant.
