This image shows an environmental protest in the 1970s at Appalachian State University (1967-current) and Boone, NC, by Appalachian State students. A group of students can be seen standing around a car, one fastening a poster to the rear. Students were protesting the amount of pollution and garbage in the campus and town in general. Newland Hall, built 1939, can be seen in the background.
