This image shows an environmental protest in the 1970s at Appalachian State University (1967-current) and Boone, NC, by Appalachian State students. Two students are sitting in a convertible, looking back at the camera. A sign reading, "Save the Earth," is taped over the trunk of the car. The students were protesting the amount of pollution and garbage in the campus and town in general.
