This image shows a group of students sitting at a long table in Welborn Cafeteria, built 1925, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) during the mid-1950s. Students are wearing evening clothes. The person behind the microphone is Dr. Francis Hoover. To his right is his wife, Ms. Rena Hoover. Dr. Hoover taught in the Department of Physical Education, and Ms. Hoover taught in the Department of History.
