This image shows four attendees of the commencement ceremonies can be seen standing outside at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967), circa 1965. Appalachian State President William Howard Plemmons (1955-1969) can be seen standing on the right. The Promenade can be seen in the background. Commencement was held in the Broome-Kirk Gymnasium, built 1955, until 1968.
