Wrestling Team, circa 1955

This image shows the wrestling team in the mid-1950s posing in front of a curtain at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). Wrestling at Appalachian State was an established sport until 1952, when the team disbanded due to lack of competition. It reformed again in 1955. The wrestling team met in the Men's Gymnasium, built 1934, until December 1955, when Broome-Kirk Gymnasium was completed.
