Title

Basketball Practice, circa 1955

Description

This image shows a group of men playing basketball in Broome-Kirk Gymnasium, built 1955, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) during the mid-1950s. A player throws the basketball towards the goal while four other players attempt to grab the ball. The image is possibly of a physical education class or the Mountaineer Basketball Team practice. Other people can be seen sitting in chairs and on bleachers in the background, while a man with a whistle in his mouth stands on the right.
