Textile Scholarship, 1954, Charles Jenkins

This image shows a student taking notes at a desk at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). A small globe sits on the desk next to him. Charles Jenkins attended Appalachian State for the 1954-55 school year as a freshman, and was awarded the Textile Scholarship for that year. Appalachian State's Department of Home Economics held several courses in textiles, focusing on choosing and judging quality of fabric, fabric production, and interior design.
