Description

This image shows a partially out-of-focus view of Watauga County Hospital in 1959. The building first opened in 1932 as the college infirmary at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967), before being reopened in 1938 as Watauga County Hospital, serving Appalachian State and the town of Boone, NC. It served in this capacity until 1968, when it was renovated as the Administration Building Annex.This image shows the eastern side of the building, with a view of the street and two parked cars in the foreground.
