Title

Home Economics Building, 1959

Description

This image shows the first Home Economics Building, built 1905. It served as the original Administration Building until 1924, and was renovated for the Home Economics Department in 1939. In addition to the classrooms, offices, and auditorium of the original building, renovations added space specific to the Home Economics Program, including food and clothing laboratories, a home management house, and a nursery school. The building was torn down in 1967 to make room for the third administration building, B. B. Dougherty Administration Building, completed 1968, and the Home Economics Department moved to the Lillie Shull Dougherty Hall, built 1962.
