Description

This image shows the managers of the Appalachian State Mountaineers football team, posing on College Field at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). Included are, from left to right, senior manager Jack Parks, freshman manager Carl Draughon, equipment manager Jake Hord, freshman manager Wilmer Dove, and trainer Bunk Carpenter. The second Administration Building, built 1924, and Dauph-Blan Hall, built 1929, are visible in the background. College Field was located south of the Administration Building, built 1924, approximately where Rankin Science Hall was later built in 1963. This image appears in the October 9, 1953 edition of "The Appalachian."
