Description

This image shows one of the "singspirations" held in the fine arts auditorium in I. G. Greer Hall, built 1950, during Religious Emphasis Week at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) during September 29-October 3, 1957. During Religious Emphasis Week, speaker Bishop George Henry spoke with each individual class of students during afternoon meetings, followed by socials, band recitals, and discussions led by Henry, Reverend McMurray, and Reverend Hutchinson. The topic for discussion was "Are You A Hitch Hiker?" Singspirations were held during the evenings of September 30 and October 1.
