Description
This image shows the freshman orientation at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). Students sit in chairs on the left, looking at papers, while another stands on the right, filling information on paper on a table. The student in the center on the left appears to be holding registration cards. An employee sits in the background behind a desk. Orientation was held at the start of each semester for incoming students, and included placement tests, religious meetings, campus tours, dances and other special events, and registration. This image appears in the 1958 Rhododendron (p. 61).
