Description
This image shows the freshman orientation at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). Students sit in an auditorium in the second Administration Building, built 1924, looking up at a stage, while the Appalachian State cheerleaders perform cheers. The group on stage includes a group of men in white, women in various dresses, and a woman playing a piano. Orientation was held at the start of each semester for incoming students, and included placement tests, religious meetings, campus tours, dances and other special events, and registration.
