This image shows one of the commencement speakers speaking at the commencement ceremony at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in August 1977. Commencement was held at the Varsity Gymnasium, built 1968. Another commencement speaker is visible in the background, and the wall includes a painting of a bull's head over an outline of West Virginia and a painting of Yosef, Appalachian State's mascot. At the podium is Mr. John Corey, General Administration of the University of North Carolina.
