This image shows Appalachian State student Kent Oehm, an Arts Education major, speaking at the Summer 1975 commencement ceremony in the Varsity Gymnasium, built 1968, at Appalachian State University (1967-current). Another speaker, student Jonathan Pierce, can be seen seated in the background, and back wall reads, "Furman," with a painting of the Furman mascot, a knight on a horse, and "VMI," with a painting of a kangaroo mascot.
