Industrial Arts, 1963, graduates, photo 1

This image shows the first five graduates of the Industrial Arts Department in 1963, dressed in caps and gowns in front of the entrance to Kerr Scott Hall, built 1961, at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). The Industrial Arts Department began in 1958, when money for the building was appropriated, and it began offering courses in 1961. Its first graduates were produced in 1963. Sign over the entrance reads, "Industrial Arts."
