This image shows the student toy exhibit celebrating the American Bicentennial in 1976. Items are arranged in the display case at the University Bookstore, built 1969, at Appalachian State University (1969-current). This display was part of a student display competition. Poster in window reads, "American Bicentennial, 1776-1976," and includes a toy collection, including basketballs, dolls, and a sock monkey. The United States Bicentennial was celebrated on Sunday, July 4, 1976, the 200th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.
