Description

This image shows Robert Snead, vice chancellor of Development and Public Affairs at Appalachian State, speaking at the Bicentennial celebration in front of the B. B. Dougherty Administration Building, built 1968, in 1976 at Appalachian State University (1969-current). Dean of the Graduate School Cratis Williams and former Appalachian State President William Howard Plemmons can be seen seated to the left behind the podium, and history profession J. Max Dixon is seated on the right. The United States Bicentennial was celebrated on Sunday, July 4, 1976, the 200th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.
