This image shows a speaker standing behind a podium at a table at a luncheon celebrating the University's seventy-fifth anniversary. The seventy-fifth anniversary of Appalachian State University (1967-current) was celebrated in 1978, commemorating the anniversary of the University becoming a state-sponsored institution with a focus in teacher training in 1903, when Watauga Academy (1899-1903) became Appalachian Training School (1903-1925). Seated on the right is Ms. Maxine Trivette, wife of Mr. Ned Trivette (Vice Chancellor for Business Affairs) who is sitting next to her.
