Description

This image shows the Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) sixtieth anniversary emblem, designed for use on college stationary by the Art Department. It consists of a diamond with the Earth at the base, with the symbol of the school in the middle of the diamond, reading "Appalachian State Teachers College, 1903, Esse Quam Videri, 60th Anniversary." The sixtieth anniversary of Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) was celebrated in 1963, commemorating the date the institution became a state-sponsored institution with a focus in teacher training in 1903, when Watauga Academy (1899-1903) became Appalachian Training School (1903-1925).
