Description

This image shows a music recital at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in 1957. Seen on stage are the College Choir, with the College Orchestra positioned in front of the stage. The Choir was one of four musical organizations at Appalachian State, including the College Band, Appalachian Double Octet, and College Orchestra. All performed concerts at Appalachian State and in various cities around North Carolina throughout the year. Music majors were required to participate in at least one musical organization for twelve quarters to obtain a degree in music education. This image appears in the 1957 Rhododendron (p. 5).
