Description

This image shows a parade float seen at Homecoming, 1956. The float bears yearbook photographs of the class of 1930, topped with a ball reading "1st BS Degree," with a banner on the bottom, reading, "Class '30 started ball rolling." The class of 1930 was the first graduating class of Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967). The south end of the second Administration Building, built 1924, can be seen in the background, with Dauph Blan Hall, built 1929, visible to the right. A group of people can be seen watching the parade in front of the buildings. This float was judged the winner among Homecoming floats in 1956.
