This image shows three members of the Homecoming court at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in 1956, seated in a convertible as it drives down a street in Boone, NC, as part of the Homecoming Day Parade. Seen from left to right are Sybil Thomas, queen Carol Jean Preslar, and Carolyn Wall. Homecoming was an annual event at Appalachian State Teachers College, and included plays, a parade, a dance, a football game, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
