This image shows the Homecoming Court, with escorts, of 1956 at the Homecoming dance. Seen in the image, from left to right, are Dolly Koontz, Jean Abbott, queen Carol Jean Preslar, Carolyn Medlin, and Carolyn Wall. A jazz band can be seen playing in the background. The curtain on the back of the stage reads "[T]wilighers." Homecoming was an annual event at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967), including plays, a parade, a dance, a football game, alumni activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
