This image shows three members of the Homecoming Court at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in 1956, seated in a convertible on College Field. Seen are Sybil Thomas, queen Carol Jean Preslar, and Carolyn Wall. The band can be seen playing in the background in front of the Men's Gymnasium, built 1934. Homecoming was an annual event at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967), including plays, a parade, a dance, a football game, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
