Title

Dougherty House, 1905

Description

This image shows the northern side of the Dougherty House, built by Dauphin Disco and Lillie Shull Dougherty in 1903. Lillie and her eldest daughter Clara Bartlett, born 1898, can be seen standing in front of the main entrance. D. D. and daughter Annie, born 1903, can be seen to the right.

The Dougherty House was located at the southern end of campus until the mid-1980s. It was acquired by the Appalachian Heritage Museum and moved to Route 321, between Boone and Blowing Rock, in 1989. It was restored as a house museum and is located on the grounds of Mystery Hill.
