Description

This image shows the crowning of the 1969 Homecoming queen Pat Curlee during halftime in the Homecoming game at Conrad Stadium, built 1962, at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in October 1969. Curlee can be seen standing beneath an umbrella on a football field. The Marching Band can be seen in the background. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen. On the far left is Chancellor Herbert W. Wey.
