This image shows the Mountaineer football team playing Carson-Newman College during the Homecoming game at Conrad Stadium, built 1962, at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in October 1969. A player can be seen running with the ball while other players run behind him. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
