This image shows part of the Appalachian State University (1967-current) Homecoming parade on King Street in Boone, NC, in October 1969. Students can be seen marching on the wet road, with onlookers watching on the left and right. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
