This image shows Homecoming Queen Sharon Dodge standing at the entrance to Broome-Kirk Gymnasium, built 1955, for the Homecoming dance at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in October 1966. The Homecoming court consisted of Queen Sharon Dodge and attendants Terry Deweese, Mary Verble, Helen Eicher, Julie Lindsey, and Cindy Starr. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen. This image appears in the 1967 Rhododendron (p. 74).
