This image shows attendees of the Alumni Association's reunion activities at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in October 1978. People can be seen standing around a room. The Alumni Association started in 1934 and met at least once a year during Homecoming for reunions, association business, and officer elections. The man in the center facing the right of the photograph is Dr. Swanson Richards, Superintendent of Watauga County schools and soon to be President of Surry County Community College. Next to him and looking toward him is his wife, Ruth.
