Description

This image shows a line of cars in the Appalachian State University (1967-current) Homecoming parade diving down Rivers Street in the early-1970s. Broome-Kirk, built 1955, and Varsity Gymnasium, built 1968, can be seen on the right. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
