Homecoming Queen, 1965

This image shows Judy Benton, the 1965 Homecoming Queen at Appalachian Teachers College (1929-1967), in October 1965. Benton can be seen sitting on the edge of a fountain behind one of the dormitories. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
