Homecoming Parade, circa 1964

This image shows the cheerleaders performing in front of a crowd on the Promenade during the Homecoming parade at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in the early-1960s. Cheerleaders can be seen standing on the left and the audience on the right. Homecoming was an annual event that included dramatic performances, a parade, a dance, a football game, reunion activities, and the crowning of the Homecoming queen.
