This image shows a member of the Marching Band at Appalachian State University (1967-current) standing at attention during a sesson of Band Camp at Conrad Stadium, built 1962, in the 1970s. The Marching Band was originally started by Professor Gordon Nash in 1939 and was managed by the Department of Music. They performed routinely at parades and athletic events during the academic year.
