Description

This image shows a student resting his head on a typewriter while another student dials into the campus computer system during a computer workshop held as part of the Summer Science Program at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the 1980s. An acoustically coupled modem hookup can be seen on the left next to the telephone. Other students can be seen in the background. Appalachian State offered many summer programs, including camp activities at Camp Broadstone, math and science programs, music camps, and nature studies for children and adults. Summer camp programs are arranged through the Office of Conferences and Institutes.
