This image shows a luncheon held by the Alumni Association at Appalachian State Teachers College (1929-1967) in Welborn Cafeteria, built 1925, in 1969. President William Howard Plemmons (1955-1969) can be seen holding a microphone speaking to attendees. The Alumni Association started in 1934 and met at least once a year during Homecoming for reunions, association business, and officer elections. Seated on the far left is Jim Whittington.
