Honorary Dinner, Bill Rankin

This image shows a man being presented with a framed certificate at Appalachian State University (1967-current) during an honorary dinner held for Bill Rankin and Hugh Daniel held during the 1970s. The certificate reads, "Kay Cut-Rate Jewelers lifetime credit card to Bill Rankin in Sincere Appreciation." Both Bill Rankin and Hugh Daniel have been donors to Appalachian State University. On the far left is Dr. Hugh Daniel. On the far right and presenting the certificateto Mr. William Rankins is Mr. Lee Adams, Director of Public Affairs. Standing next to him is Ms. Ruby Daniel, wife of Dr. Daniel. The lifetime credit card from “Kay Cut-Rate Jewelers” was a gag gift. Mr. Rankins was the owner and operator of a jewelry store in Lincolnton, N.C.
