Description

This image shows three students in the Department of Physics and Astronomy in the College of Arts and Sciences at Appalachian State University (1967-current) standing in a hallway in Rankin Science Hall, built 1963, checking the departmental bulletin board in 1986-87. The Department operates the Dark Sky Observatory, built 1981, the Rankin Science Observatory, and offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in physics and astrophysics, as well as student research programs. This image appears in the 1987 Rhododendron (p. 128).
