This image shows Bill Griffin, an instructor in the Interdisciplinary Studies Program and assistant director of Watauga College in the General College at Appalachian State University (1967-current) for 1978-79. The General College was formed in 1967 and originally held nonacademic functions including admissions, financial aid, medical services, the registrar, the student union, security, and advising, as well as several academic programs such as International Programs, Interdisciplinary Studies, Freshman Seminar, and the Honors Program. Between 2005 and 2007, the College was reorganized into the University College to include General Education, co-curricular programs, and interdisciplinary degree programs. Griffin began teaching at Appalachian State in 1978.
