This diary was recorded by Andrew Jackson Greene from September 29 through November 18, 1940. He began the new book by writing that he hoped to portray the common everyday events in an interesting way. He also wrote that he knew several stirring things in the country would be of interest for the future. This book is composed of his personal reactions to the people and places that he comes into contact with every day. He also included writings that provide information about local news and community events of the time.
