This image shows Professor Bob Soeder giving a lecture to a class in the Department of Chemistry at Appalachian State University (1967-current) during the 1980s. The Department of Chemistry exists within the College of Arts and Sciences, and aims to provide training for future chemists, basic understanding of the principles of chemistry, and chemistry teachers. The Department has been accredited by the American Chemical Society. The man in the photo is not Dr. Bob Soeder, but rather is Dr. George Miles, Professor of Chemistry.
