Description
This image shows the Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) machine in the Department of Chemistry at Appalachian State University (1967-current) during the mid-1970s. NMR spectroscopy was used to study the chemical structure of molecules. The Department of Chemistry exists within the College of Arts and Sciences, and aims to provide training for future chemists, basic understanding of the principles of chemistry, and chemistry teachers. The Department has been accredited by the American Chemical Society.
