Description
This image shows a workstation in the audio-tutorial lab at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the 1970s. The workstation includes a video screen with an image of a giraffe on it, a tape player with headphones, a tray with a starfish in it, a worksheet, and a student time card. The Department of Biology aimed to provide cultural background in life sciences, prepare biology teachers, and train biologists. It is housed in the College of Arts and Sciences and maintains a greenhouse, a herbarium, and several land tracts located on and off campus.
