Description
This image shows a student painting glaze on a piece of pottery during a ceramics course in the Art Department at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in the mid to late 1970s. Racks of pottery can be seen in the background. Originally part of the Division of Applied Arts, the Art Department was one of the first departments at Appalachian State, and is now housed under the College of Fine and Applied Arts. It includes concentrations in clay, drawing, fibers, metals/jewelry, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture.
