Description

This image shows a student sitting in front of a table with several round clay sculptures on the ton, in the Art Department at Appalachian State University (1967-current) in mid to late 1970s. Other clay sculptures can be seen in the background, covered in plastic. Originally part of the Division of Applied Arts, the Art Department was one of the first departments at Appalachian State, and is now housed under the College of Fine and Applied Arts. It includes concentrations in clay, drawing, fibers, metals/jewelry, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture.
