Description

This image shows an arts workshop held for high school students in 1975 by the Art Department at Appalachian State University (1967-current). A student can be seen carving a lithograph design on a small piece of wood on a workbench. Originally part of the Division of Applied Arts, the Art Department was one of the first departments at Appalachian State, and is now housed under the College of Fine and Applied Arts. It includes concentrations in clay, drawing, fibers, metals/jewelry, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture.
