This image shows a faculty banquet in the mid to late-1970s held in Welborn Cafeteria, built 1925, at Appalachian State University (1967-current). Chancellor Herbert Walter Wey (1969-1979) can be seen shaking hands with a faculty member and handing him a framed Outstanding Teacher Award. Receiving the award is Dr. Roy Carroll, Professor and Chairperson of the Department of History.
